John Rayis is the Senior Strategic Advisor for Lockton’s Tax Insurance Practice as well as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law. John advises clients on tax insurance and other transaction-related insurance solutions.
John joined Lockton following a distinguished 25+ year career as a tax partner at the global law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he served as tax partner for companies in a variety of complex corporate and partnership tax law matters, with a particular focus on real estate investment trusts (REITs), as well as external tax counsel for several large private equity funds. John repeatedly has been selected for inclusion in Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business in the “Capital Markets: REITs” category, in Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business as one of America's leading REIT tax lawyers, and in The Best Lawyers in America.
